Peach Blossoms

See how tall they stand!
Take an early morning stroll between our rows of peach trees at Orchard Hill Farm. You’ll notice most of them loom over you, extending to seven feet in height. They stand so tall, still so slender, but proud. Walk alongside them and drink in the sunlight as they do. It’s been a confusing winter full of rainstorms, icy snow, and harsh winds. But finally, spring has come.

Clusters of beautiful blossoms
It seemed like yesterday where the peach trees were just little stub-lings. Now, their trunks have shot up and their slender branches are growing out to reach for the sky. Look a little closer and you’ll see tiny pink blossoms no bigger than the size of your thumb. They too, are drinking up the sunlight. In clusters, they glow a deep radiant pink with plum velvet centers. The single blossoms allow the sunlight to pass right through them, emitting a light shade of carnation pink.
The colors of nature have no competition. Look even closer at the trees and you’ll see that the colors are all interwoven. The new branches stemming off the trunk are russet red. The edges of the forest green leaves and the highlights of the trunk reflect this same color. They’re all brought together by the glowing pink blossoms.
What new colors will the summer bring?
